Rama also known as Ramachandra, is the name of "Shuddh Brahman who took avatar in Treta Yuga. He is the seventh avatar of the god Vishnu.
Rama was born to Kaushalya and Dasharatha in Ayodhya, the ruler of the Kingdom of Kosala. His siblings included Lakshmana, Bharata, and Shatrughna. He married Sita the princess of Mithila.
Even though born in a royal family, their life is described in the Hindu texts as one challenged by unexpected changes such as an exile into impoverished and difficult circumstances, ethical questions and moral dilemmas.Of all their travails, the most notable is the kidnapping of Sita by demon-king Ravana, followed by the determined and epic efforts of Rama and Lakshmana to gain her freedom and destroy the evil Ravana against great odds. The entire life story of Rama, Sita and their companions allegorically discusses duties, rights and social responsibilities of an individual. It illustrates dharma and dharmic living through model characters.

Why is Rama called Maryada Puroshattam?
Lord Sri Ram is one and only one an unique character in whole world and in Tri loks. Out of all avtars of Lord Hari, he is only most perfect avtar on earth has ruled here for 13 thousands of years. Sri Krishna also most perfect avtar, left the earth in only 125 years. No such great personality, like him was ever born anywhere nor will born.
He had so many extra qualities and that is why, he was and is still as "Maryada Purushottam". Lord Sri Rama is also the protagonist of theHindu epic Ramayan and he is main character of Santan Dharma, which narrates his idealistic ideas and his greatness. Lord Sri Rama is one of the many popular figures and deities inHinduism, specifically Vaishnavisn and Vaishnava religious scriptures in South andSouth East Asia. He was supreme Personality Lord Mahavishnu himself but he never attributed his divine powers. He always preferred as a simple human beings. Though, he was recognized by his devotees and Rishi Munis that he was not a simple human being, but he always preferred as human being.
He is considered to be one of the most important and most perfect avatars of almighty Lord Vishnu. He is still considered as the Supreme Being, god head, Param Purush Swaym Bhagwan. He is also supreme Being Swyam Bhagwan rather than an avatar. Out of two Three Purn Avtar, Lord Sri Ram and Sri Krishna are considered as most Perfect and Purn Avtar.
He was not a simple human being as he looks, but he was Mahavishnu himself in human form for eliminating demons and for upgrading Sanatan Dharma. He is the symbol of Vedic Dharma/ Santan Dharma. Vedic culture which is the base and entity of India can not exist without him. In India, he is the symbol, sign, and soul of India.
Literally the Perfect Man or Lord of Self-Control or Lord of Virtue, the supreme Personality god head. Mata Sita wife of Lord sri Ram is considered by Hindus to be an avatar of Adi Shakti Mata Lakshmi and the embodiment of perfect womanhood.
Lord Sri Ram has one extra quality, what he spoken, would do at any cost. 2ndly, He speaks once and never spoken twice in whole life. He never went against Dharma. He never crossed his limit, though he is infinite. He is beyond thoughs, mind and imagine by anyone. Even veda and great Rishi Munis have no reach there. That is why, He is Maryada Purushottam.
Very interesting and informative read.
